1947 Ford Custom Pickup
Car History
The first-generation of the Ford F-Series is a series of trucks that was produced by Ford in North America from 1947 to 1952. The introduction of the F-Series marked the divergence of Ford car and truck design, developing a chassis intended specifically for truck use.
It didn't take long for American Hot Rodders long to start modifying these stock trucks into Street Rods. We have a 1947 Ford Custom Pickup here at Adventure Classics that was professionally built as a street rod and it is a one-of-a-kind piece of rolling art.
Engine & Drivetrain
The original Flathead in our truck is long gone and in its place is now a more potent 383 cubic inch small block Chevy stroker V-8 Engine producing over 400 horsepower. It has an intimidating look and sound as the engine's spent gases are routed through custom Powder Coated Headers and a Big Tubing Exhaust system.
Other performance additions on the rod include an aluminum radiator ensures cool running, a 700R4 Automatic Transmission sends the power to a Camaro rear end housing with a 12 Bolt Posi 3.23 Ratio.
The 47 was built on a Camaro subframe with a Camaro rear end, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Four Wheel Disc Brakes, Electric Fan, Electric Fan, Electronic Ignition, polished valve covers and air cleaner, and more.
Interior
The interior features plush bucket seats in tan upholstery, matching door panels, painted and restored dash with performance gauges, a three-spoke black/polished steering wheel, a Lokar Shifter, with everything flowing together very nicely into a well-integrated overall package.
Exterior
The laser-straight body is finished in deep slick Black paint on our Ford has many body tweaks including a 3" body Chop, hidden hinges, a fabricated rear roll pan, custom aluminum and wood bed flooring.
It has a great ride with the 5-spoke polished 20" & 18" custom Wheels with performance black wall tires. The chrome trim, bumpers, step plates, mirrors, and all other aspects looks superb.
Conclusion
As stated earlier, we have a 1947 Ford Custom Pickup here at Adventure Classics that will give you so much comfort. Power, and reliability in this professionally built street rod.
