A very sweet buy for a savvy enthusiast!
We are proud to offer for sale a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am that is refinished in Starlight Black (19L19U) over a Black (19R) vinyl interior that has been dressed up with German style Special Edition decals! This beautiful Trans Am is Equipped with its number's matching L78 400ci V8 and automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, 15” snowflake WS6 cast aluminum wheels, BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white letter tires measuring 245/60R15, removable T-top roof panels, all tinted glass, remote driver mirror, power front disc brakes, power steering, front and rear seatbelts, and full dash instrumentation!
It has only been cosmetically restored to include new exterior paint, complete Special Edition German Style Trans Am decals and all new weather stripping. The interior appears to remain all original which continues to be in wonderful condition! The odometer reads only 64,001 miles and is believed to be actual from new! Under the hood, you'll find a very nicely detailed, original XA-coded Pontiac 400ci V8 producing a factory rated 180 horsepower. The entire air conditioning system was just completely rebuilt to include a new compressor, lines and seals; v-belt, POA valve, receiver dryer, pressure switch, and retrofit to modern R134a refrigerant. During that process, the original carburetor was fully rebuilt with new gaskets, filters, and accelerator pump; new spark plugs and plug wires installed; new valve cover gaskets, new air, fuel, and oil filters; new heater core installed, new radiator overflow bottle, fresh engine oil and coolant, new windshield washer pump, new hood insulation, rear shocks, rear wheel cylinders, and all new brake hoses front & rear. It presents exceptionally well even underneath after a thorough cleaning to reveal a rust free, solid undercarriage with red oxide primer preserved underneath! A remarkably pleasant surprise!
This 1977 Trans Am example was built new at the Norwood, OH plant the 2nd week of April 1977 and sold new by Anderson Motor Co in Aurora, Missouri to its original owner, Gerald Buehler, on April 23rd, 1977 with 18 miles on the odometer. The build date and sale date are very close together, it was likely ordered for Mr. Buehler to his exact specifications. It is not known how long Mr. Buehler held onto his beautiful Trans Am, but we do know it didn't travel far throughout its entire life. Future owners were all within a 60 mile radius of one another, so we are rather confident it stayed protected close to its southwestern Missouri home. Our records indicate ownership in Monett, MO and Springfield, MO between the past two owners over the last 16 years. The Monett resident was said to have enjoyed this Trans Am on three HOT ROD Magazine Power Tours in 2006, 2007, and 2008!
A fantastic and ready to enjoy Trans Am that comes with PHS documentation, a factory window sticker, EPA sheet, warranty booklet, all original manuals, original door sticker, floor mat, trunk mat, and spare (non-original spare saver) with jack and tools. It is very nicely sorted and will make for a terrific cruiser that certainly won't last long on the showroom floor!
