The Nova deviated from the squared off cars for the two generations prior and introduced a car with curvaceous lines and a sleeker look. Still considered a compact, the new Nova was still considered a basic, no frills car, however, in typical Chevrolet fashion, the list of potential trim packages and performance options were long, and their relatively small size and light weight, the Nova was a top pick among engine builders and gear heads to outfit with bigger performance based motors and taken to the drag strip.
