Behind that monster motor, a rugged Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed spins power to a 12-bolt posi-traction rear end that's fitted with friendly 3.42 gears. Below that stellar drivetrain, a lowered Trans Am suspension, which includes factory power steering, thicker sway bars, better shocks and stiffer springs, combines with standard issue power front disc and rear drum brakes to provide quick stops and great handling.
