It only seems fitting that Ford and Shelby Automobiles would eventually renew their decades abandoned push to dominate the performance car world. And this King of the Road Mustang is a perfect example of why that partnership is a match made in heaven! Thanks to exceptionally low mileage, and a life spent mostly indoors, this factory fresh Mustang is essentially brand new in every way. Take a look under the car's lightweight carbon fiber hood and you'll find a blown V8 mod motor that utilizes an iron block with a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, aluminum heads and dual overhead camshafts, this rowdy 5.4 liter pavement buster makes 540 horsepower and 510 lb./ft. of torque all the while providing surprising efficiency and a docile nature. Straight from Dearborn the D2C Mustang platform is a very capable foundation; and with a few upgrades from Ford's SVT division, it becomes a true force to be reckoned with! At the front of the car, a fully independent suspension makes good use of new shock valving, revised springs, performance tuned struts and giant 14 inch vented discs which are clamped by four piston Brembo calipers. And at the back of the car, a three link solid axle rear end makes good use of a familiar limited slip differential, revised springs, performance tuned shocks and two piston factory calipers which clamp equally impressive 12 inch discs. Sending the engines power to the ground is a slick shifting Tremec 6-speed transmission which spins torque through a GT500 single speed driveshaft to big 3.73 gears. And all this proven hardware rides on an awesome set of forged 18 inch Shelby wheels which spin super sticky 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 radials.
