When this Mustang rolled into our showroom, we got a little nervous and to say the least, we were taken aback a bit. We have seen similar Fox Body Mustang LXs like this one, (usually in the rearview mirror) only painted a couple of shades lighter in paint code Dulux 93-032, with a traditional “Gumball” light and hood-mounted clear Lexan “shark fin” with the words “STOP” painted in red and “State Police” engraved in it. Then we came to our senses and realized we were “cool”, but boy does this 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 notchback capture the menacing look of the Ford Special Service Package (SSP) used by the Michigan State Police to run down handily many a high-speed violator on state highways.

This 1993 Ford Mustang LX features black steel wheels with chrome “Ford” embossed center caps wrapped in Firestone Firehawk AS high-speed radial tires that are all business. The no-frills dark blue paint with color-matched body molding really does give off a serious high-performance pursuit vehicle vibe, perhaps intended to be driven in a modern reincarnation crime drama with the likes of Frank Bullitt or Bufford Pusser behind the wheel. The finish on this car was laid down in 2018 over clean South Carolina sheet metal. The finish has been well maintained and shines brightly with a deep luster. As the underbody and trunk photos indicate, other than some light surface rust there are no apparent rust concerns with this body and while this car does come with a Rebuilt/Salvage Title it was due to a theft In 1996 and not a collision or accident claim.

Inside the grey interior is very well preserved and presents as original. The cloth interior is clean showing little if any wear, and free of any tears, or seam pulls. The carpet is clean similarly showing little wear and only some very light soiling on the driver's front floor. The trunk is clean, and the factory felt lining and floor mat is present and in very good condition. Also present in the trunk is the factory spare tire and related jack and tools. The leather-wrapped steering wheel features finger controls built into the wheel for the cruise control and frames the factory rally gauges featuring a center-mounted tachometer and 140 MPH speedometer. Other options include power windows and locks, power driver's seat, A/C, and cruise control. The factory radio has been upgraded with a Pioneer Super Tuner with AM/FM/CD player with AUX input.

Under the hood is clean in original unrestored condition with the factory decals and assembly markings still present. The 302cid High Output V8 with fuel injection sits under the hood and sends the power to the rear differential through a factory 5-speed manual transmission. The chassis and underbody are in original condition and clean with much of the factory markings and assembly markings. The factory dual exhaust has been upgraded with Flowmaster mufflers that rumble deeply at idle. The suspension features front and rear HD sway bars, a power rack and pinion steering with power brakes with front disc brakes.

This is an amazing car to drive, as the HD suspension will easily straighten the curves and the high-revving V8 will shorten the long straightaways as it roars through the gears. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thank you for looking.
