INCREDIBLE BUILD, 5.0 COYOTE, COILOVERS, 4-WHL DISCS, AC, CUSTOM INTERIOR, NICE!
In this current era of Barrett-Jackson, Mecum Auctions and Gas Monkey Garage on TV nearly every night, you might think you have seen it all when it comes to Muscle cars. Especially one as popular as the Ford Mustang. However, this 1969 Ford Mustang Restomod convertible is refreshing proof that custom builds can still be done in such a way that it honors the heritage the original pony car but yet feature today's advanced engineering that ensures you will stand out at any car show.
The beneficiary of a full nut-and-bolt build, the builder started by eliminating the shock towers and utilizing a rack and pinion power steering and coilover front clip that allowed them to take advantage of Ford's excellent 5.0L/435 HP DOHC Coyote V-8. Look closely at the engine and you'll see this something you can drive and enjoy. Not only is there your typical Power Steering and Vintage A/C, but up front you'll see the aluminum radiator that has been equipped with two electric fans to ensure no hot summer day bests the car. The Mustang also comes equipped with 4-wheel drilled and slotted rotors courtesy of Wilwood brakes. Put the car on the lift and you'll see the Ford AODE 4-speed automatic transmission as well as all four corners that have been outfitted with adjustable coil-over shocks.
A burnt orange metallic paint adorns the exterior, which features custom black accents throughout and a functioning side-pipe exhaust skirts. BOSS 302 stripes are planted down the side and give a hint to what is sitting at home in the engine bay. At the corners, a set of black 18" US Mag Wheels have been wrapped in Firestone Indy 500 rubber. The overall look of the car is something that will stop people in their tracks when they walk up on this car.
The gorgeous exterior scheme is accented nicely by a fully custom two-tone tan leather interior that is second to none. Pop open the door and look at the custom door panel and you'll see how the Boss 302 theme is continued on their as well. The custom interior features bucket seats, custom center console, push-button start, Dakota Digital gauges, a tilt column, power windows, Vintage Air and a killer Polk audio sound system. And for those days that you just want to make sure everyone in the neighborhood hears you coming down the road, flip the electric cutout exhaust switch and you'll have the Coyote howling at full decibels without being choked down by the mufflers. It really is something to hear in person.
Overall this Mustang is incredible to showoff but even more fun to drive. Whatever your desire, this '69 Mustang Restomod convertible does not disappoint. Contact Shelton Classics & Performance for details at (704) 663-0432 or visit www.SheltonClassics.com
