1964 Chevrolet El Camino
History
Chevrolet El Camino was a coupe utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959–1960 and 1964–1987. Unlike a pickup truck, the El Camino was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.
The restored 1964 Chevrolet El Camino we have here at Adventure Classics has a great black paint job with a gorgeous white interior, red line tires and Rallye wheels, what more could you want?
Engine & Drivetrain
Under the hood is a small block Chevrolet 282 cubic inch engine that looks as it did when it left the factory back then with the engine block, heads, factory Chevrolet script (painted in white) valve covers, and intake painted in Chevrolet racing orange, correct snorkel black air cleaner assembly with the 283 decal on it, new spark plug wires, factory cast iron exhaust headers going back to the turbo type mufflers on the dual exhaust, power steering and brakes, and all sitting in a clean and tidy engine compartment.
All this power gets to the ground through a 4-speed manual transmission on its way to the stout 10-bolt rear end and rolls on a set of Rallye factory Chevrolet wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps and shod with Red Line Cooper Cobra Radial GT performance tires.
Interior
The interior is exactly what you want to see, a brilliant restored white split bench seat with matching white door panels, black and chrome factory steering wheel, factory dash with the aluminum gauge panel and factory gauges and instruments, aftermarket gauge package, and 4-speed shifter in the floor.
There is also the Chevrolet radio, nice carpet, El Camino floor mats, and sill plates that make this a super-nice cockpit.
Exterior
The exterior looks great on our El Camino painted in deep black paint that provides an instant attraction with the white interior, great grille, Chevrolet badging, and the factory period correct wheel/tires combination.
There is also great details everywhere from the classic chrome bumpers to the great black paint in the bed and nice tips on the dual exhausts.
Conclusion
The very nice 1964 Chevrolet El Camino we have here at Adventure Classics is very well done and will make the new owner a great cruiser to add to the collection.
It is a very strong runner and looks and sounds great too.
