About Pontiac's 1969 Firebird Model:
The Firebird was designed from the Camaro's “F-Body” design and shared the GTO's “A-Body” drivetrain. A unique and quite striking split-grill front end gave the Firebird a distinctive and attractive appearance and set it apart for the Camaro. The Firebird also got louver style tail lamps and side louver treatments on the front and rear quarter panels. The Firebird was a bit longer than the Camaro making for a sleeker look that many collectors still to this day prefer over their Chevrolet counterpart. It was available in a sport coupe and convertible in 5 versions: Firebird OHC, the Sprint, 326, H.O. and 400. What Pontiac had created with the Firebird was an instant success selling well over 30,000 units by the end March of 1967. This enduring classic went on to win races against other manufacture's best designs creating a legend that still stirs the souls of collectors and muscle car enthusiasts the world over!

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to own a well-kept and rare classic that is ready to hit the road! Finished in factory cowl tag correct Carousel Red (72), this exceptional 1969 Pontiac Firebird 350 convertible features an all Parchment White (207) interior that is highly complimented by a matching White top. Originally built in Lordstown, OH this handsome unit comes loaded with options including 1969 date-code correct Pontiac 350ci-2bbl V8 engine (YE), TH350 automatic transmission, Safe-T-Track axle, power folding top, variable ratio power steering, power disc brakes, aftermarket Vintage Air conditioning, color-keyed sport mirrors, Sony AM/FM/CD radio with kick panel speakers, bucket seats, center console, remote drivers mirror, front and rear seat belts, 14” Rally II wheels with whitewall tires, and rear spoiler!

This stand-out classic Pontiac showcases an older cosmetic restoration that has held up very well for a vehicle that's well enjoyed. As an early November 1968 production Firebird, this example pre-dates the mandatory headrest seats that became standard towards the end of December. The body remains superbly rust free with excellent panel gaps and fitment of all hinged panels. A confident sign of a car without any major damage history. The lower rear quarters appear to have been replaced prior to the repaint. The weather stripping and windows felts are continue to appear as new and remain soft. The engine was rebuilt in 2016 and has been enhanced with some performance parts from Edelbrock to include a Performer RPM aluminum intake and 750cfm carburetor with electric choke, new Crane RV-style camshaft, along with GM HEI ignition, polished aluminum finned valve covers, crossflow aluminum radiator, new water pump, electric cooling fan, and dual resonated exhaust!

Being factory rated at 265hp, this particular example is believed to push closer to 325 horsepower today. Additionally, some custom sub-frame connectors were installed to stiffen the chassis and improve body flex during top down enjoyment. This example has also participated in the GM Performance Series/ Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour as a Long Haul Participant traveling from Madison, WI to Bristol, TN! For this, a set of instruments to monitor water temp and oil pressure more accurately were installed quite cleverly in the dash.

In additional to displaying a wonderfully kept interior, the convertible top operation in our available 1969 Firebird's is also in excellent condition. The top has only minimal areas of fade and wrinkles which was likely from spending much of the time stowed away under the boot cover. Driving this example is a real treat! It is very solid and exceptionally tight going down the road, performing wonderfully under acceleration or hard braking. With all of the brand new air conditioning components, installed in April 2020 utilizing a Vintage Air Gen IV SureFit line, this classic is ready for all sorts of summer heat no matter where enjoyed in the country!
