This package automatically added aflat black hood with NASCAR style lock-down pins, reflective bodyside stripe, competition suspension, chrome wheels, color-keyedoutside sport mirrors, and pop-open gas cap! It required theSportsroof body design and nothing less than a 351ci V8 under thehood of course! Buyers flocked to showrooms to have one of theirown! It strayed fromhome making its way to Texas before heading to southern Ohio, thenon to Michigan only 3 short years ago to fall into the hands ofScott Pickard of Scotts Mustang Garage. Scotts expertise inspecial interest Mustangs & Shelbys runs deep, and his restorationresults support his passion. With him completing only one projectat a time, the dedication to each vehicle is unsurpassed! In thecase of this well-equipped Cobra Jet, he completely dismantled theentire car to focus on the body to ensure any and all rust wasremoved. With a rotisserie jigand portableframe machinein place,he carefully photo documented the restoration of the floor & trunkpans as if it had just left the factory. The vehicles body wasall original, factory sheet metal when the process began, but Scottelected to replace the full rear quarters into the roof, evenleading them in, along with outer door skins to ensure a perfect, rust free chassis. The gorgeous exterior paint and blacked outhood were refinished in the spring 2014 with new reflective bodyside stripe and fresh weather stripping! An all new interior asprovided by TMI Products and looks amazing! The balance of themechanical overhaul was completed on a fresh 1969 date-coded enginefitted with stock heads rebuilt by Holbrook Racing, along withrebuilt original transmission and rear end! Itshows quite welltoday with careful attention to original, factory appearance underthe hood, undercarriage, as well as interior & exterioroverall. He included photo documentation of the inner fenderstamp, and the car possesses its factory-issued door data tag anddash VIN plate. Also replacedwith the restoration was all-newwiring harnesses, entire exhaust system mated to thefactorymanifolds with correct quad tips at the rear; all newbrakes at every corner with new hard lines & e-brake equipment; allnew steering & suspension components including updated Borgesonsteering box, all new fuel system from the gas tank to the fuelpump; and five brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white lettertires measuring 215/70R14! We are delighted to have this magnificentexample on our showroom! It runs and drives excellently! Allfeatures are in working order including the dash clock now withQuartz movement. It should continue to be an excellent drivercandidate for its next owner who wishes to enjoy driving theirinvestment as much as polishing it!
