Concours Gold Documented Restored Numbers Matching GTO 400 HO 360 HP V8 3 Speed
Scoring Gold honors in the Concours Modified class at the 2014 GTOAA International Convention, this fully documented Pontiac mixes a stout, numbers-matching drivetrain with correct Mariner Turquoise and Black aesthetics. Looking for an impressive classic that'll roll straight out of the showroom and right on to the show field? Here's your chance to grab a tiger by the tail! Owned by one family for the first 34 years of its life, this awesome A-Body is the beneficiary of a ground-up, rotisserie restoration that was completed in June of 2014. The car's clean profile, an essentially rust-free shell that needed very little repair, wears a rich coat of correct Mariner Turquoise 2-stage. And, as is the case with most successful Concours cars, trim and ornamentation are exactly as the factory specified. Pop the hood and the first thing you'll notice is a 400 cubic inch Pontiac V8 that, according to the car's current owner, was completely rebuilt and compression tested prior to the 2014 restoration. Less obvious, of course, is that stalwart mill's correct 9786133 casting number, May (E) 12th (12), 1967 (7) casting date and 360 horsepower, TH400-exclusive “YZ” assembly stamp. That stout small block sends power to a stalwart Turbo-Hydramatic 400, which, cased behind a correct “PX - 67“ assembly tag, spins power to a tough GM 10-bolt that's fitted with a correct Safe-T-Track differential and fun, 3.55 gears. At the sides of that rock-solid drivetrain, a rebuilt suspension is complete with factory power steering and upgraded power front disc and rear drum brakes. And muscle meets the pavement through chrome Rally IIs, which spin meaty BF Goodrich Radial T/As around red-tinged lug nuts and PMD center caps. In a world of oddball MoPars and endless Chevelle Super Sport clones, this national award-winning GTO is a fully documented, highly correct classic that pretty much defines the term “investment grade”.
