Highly anticipated and introduced in 2004, the all-new Pontiac GTO was first introduced featuring a 5.7L V8 LS1 engine and was essentially a re-skin of the Holden Monaro throughout. With much more planned for the nametags reintroduction to the market, Pontiac wasted no time beefing up the GTO and upgraded this model the very next year with larger brakes, a flared hood for styling and the same engine that was released that year for the Corvette, the 400 hp 6.0L LS2. Now able to push 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and reach speeds of 102 mph and finish a quarter mile in 14 seconds flat, Pontiac had done right by the name and brought back the GTO to is muscle car roots. Compared to the G35 and RX-8 of its time, this GTO was stomping the competition in performance overall and even held its own in the controllability and comfort department.
