1970 Shelby GT 500
Technically no Shelby's were manufactured in 1970 they were actually rebadged 1969 unsold models that had some minor revisions such as a chin spoiler and black hood stripes, the 1970 Shelby GT 500 was one of the last great models of the muscle car era.
This 1970 Shelby GT 500 was bought at the infamous Tasca Ford in June of 1970 and remained with the original owner until 2017. This numbers matching Shelby GT 500 comes with a Deluxe Marti Report as well as a binder of information including the original sales invoice which substantiates its authenticity. A full breakdown of the pertinent numbers is provided at the end of this document.
This Shelby GT 500 has had one repaint in the original factory color of Wimbledon White and remains to show very well. The Dark Red Clarion interior shows as new with no areas of excessive wear including a dash free of cracks and fading. The underside of the car was detailed under the previous ownership and shows no areas of rust or previous rust damage.
The 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet motor was rebuilt in 2013 by Reid's Racing and at that time some performance upgrades were performed but all the original parts have been retained and will be provided with the sale of the vehicle. The Shelby wheels on the car are correct reproductions but the original wheels will also be provided with the sale. The mileage shown is believed to be the correct total miles on the car.
This is an original 1970 Shelby GT 500 with a 428 Cobra Jet engine with Ram Air mated to a 4-speed manual close ratio transmission. If you are in the market for a Shelby do not let this one get away, with looks, performance, and documentation it does not get any better than this in the car collecting world.
