Description

1987 Chevrolet El Camino

The 1987 Chevrolet El Camino marked the final model year of Chevrolet's distinctive car-based pickup, a vehicle that blended passenger-car comfort with light-duty utility. First introduced for 1959 as Chevrolet's response to the Ford Ranchero, the El Camino built its reputation by combining coupe styling, rear-wheel-drive performance, and a practical cargo bed. After an early two-year run, the nameplate returned in 1964 on the Chevelle platform and continued through five generations before ending production in 1987.

The 187 El Camino was offered with practical powertrain choices suited to cruising and everyday drivability. Automatic transmissions were common during this period, and the El Camino kept the body-on-frame, rear-wheel-drive layout that many collectors still appreciate today.

Our 1987 El Camino is Maroon exterior paint with matching interior and includes the upgraded features below:

The 1987 El Camino is especially notable because it closed out a model line that had become one of Chevrolet's most recognizable specialty vehicles. Its appeal came from offering something different: the comfort and appearance of a personal coupe with the usefulness of an open cargo bed. While it was never intended to replace a full-size pickup, it gave owners a stylish and practical vehicle for cruising, errands, shows, and light hauling.

Today, our 1987 Chevrolet El Camino stands as a nostalgic reminder of a uniquely American body style. Its final-year status makes it a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts who want a classic that is both useful and memorable.

Enjoy and be proud of a classic that stands out wherever it goes and stands for the concluding chapter of one of Chevrolet's most distinctive nameplates.
