Supercharged 4.6L “Terminator” Powered Mustang Restomod Heidts IRS 6 speed A/C
Supercharged 4.6L “Terminator” Powered '73 Mustang Restomod Heidts IRS ///
This 1973 Mustang doesn't play by the rules of its generation. It rewrites them. This car is proof that with vision, craftsmanship, and serious investment, a second-generation Mustang can be elevated into something world-class. Finished in Audi's Mugello Blue Pearl with Italian leather inside, powered by a supercharged "Terminator" V8, and supported by a fully modernized suspension, steering, and braking system, it redefines what this era of Mustang can be. Originally restored by Kustom Classics of Fort Worth in a multi-year build completed about 15 years ago, the car was updated again in 2022–2023 by Relic Cars of Houston with refinements to the suspension, brakes, and interior. Nearly $150,000 in receipts and years of professional labor document the investment, all commissioned by the current owner to create a true turn-key restomod. The exterior features dual functional NACA-style hood scoops, bold red striping, and polished Asanti wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, with a professionally mini-tubbed rear accommodating massive 325-section rubber. At the heart is Ford's legendary "Terminator" 4.6-liter supercharged V8 producing over 400 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, paired with a Tremec T56 6-speed, 3.70 limited-slip differential, Heidts independent rear suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, and QA1 coilovers. Inside, red Italian leather, SpeedHut GPS gauges, modern A/C, power windows integrated into the custom console, and a Rockford Fosgate system with SiriusXM and Bluetooth complete the package. This 1973 Mustang is not a curiosity. It is a statement, and a proof-of-concept demonstrating how thoughtful engineering and investment can unlock the full potential of early-'70s Mustang design.
