GTO Convertible

Description

This 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible was manufactured in Kansas City Missouri, and was purchased new 5/20/1967 by Lester Juon in Clarion Iowa. It's a survivor car that has been properly maintained over the years. It had a professional repaint of the factory Venduro Green Poly of which only 20 67 convertibles were painted this special paint. The white convertible top was replaced and comes with a boot and car cover. Factory equipment includes special paint, AM/FM radio, deluxe wheel discs, electric clock, wonder touch power steering, power brakes, soft ray tinted glass and floor mats. Its powered by the 400 CI 335 hp v-8, 4bbl, turbo 400 automatic, 3:36 axle ratio. The center console features a Hurst his and her shifter. It comes with the original owners manual and protecto-plate. We have a copy of the most recent service work, a copy of original build sheet provided by PHS automotive services accompanies the sale. It comes with a clean Texas title.
The current owner had new mufflers installed along with a new starter and battery. It had an exhaust leak at the manifold, the heads were pulled and new exhaust studs installed, a complete valve job was performed while the heads were removed. It has new hoses and belts and the heater core is blocked off. The ride and drive is really good the transmission has good firm shifts when the power is applied. It needs to be run on premium pump gas because of the compression ratio.
Finished from the factory in Venduro Green Poly, the car was repainted in its current finish approximately 8 years ago. The tape lines show in the door jams and there are a few flaws on the passenger side of the trunk lid. The paint is excellent driver quality, not show quality however better paint than was available when new.
The white soft top is reported to be a replacement, and is shown from several angles in the gallery below. Factory 14″ wheels with deluxe wheel covers are mounted with set of Cooper Trend Setter Radials dated 2011.
Delivered from the factory in Parchment vinyl, the interior is original with the exception of the carpet that was replaced a few years ago. The dash is excellent and free of cracks however some of the wood grain trim is peeling from the flat front of the dash. The am/fm radio still works but the speaker crackles.
Factory options include, center console, dual exhaust, deluxe steering wheel, power top, dual horns, heavy duty turbo 400 transmission. The mechanical five-digit odometer shows 5,440 miles, with true mileage unknown by the seller.
The 400ci V8 is reported to be original and has not been rebuilt other than the mentioned head work during the current ownership. It runs good and strong, looks very original under the hood.
