1970 Dodge Challenger T/A clone
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A clone restomod 440ci V8 for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. For its introductory model year, the Challenger was available in two series, Challenger and Challenger R/T, and three models, two-door hardtop, Special Edition two-door hardtop, or convertible. A special model only available for the 1970 model year was the Challenger T/A.
The cabin features high-back bucket seats, and a rear bench seat trimmed in black vinyl along with a matching headliner, dashboard, door panels, and carpet. Woodgrain trim extends from the dashboard to the center console and door panels. The woodgrain steering wheel frames Rallye instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauge, and alt gauge. There is an EQUUS 8K RPM tach mounted to the dash and an EQUUS water and oil tach just underneath the dash. It now also features a Kenwood head unit (AM/FM/CD). The five-digit odometer shows 49,618 miles.
The Challenger now wears Panther Pink paint with matte black hood and side stripes. She came from the factory wearing Bright Red paint (FE5) and a full black vinyl roof (V1X). Additional features include a flip-up fuel door with a locking gas cap, body color mirrors, and a sport hood with dual scoops and hold-down pins. The paint is in excellent condition. Front and rear chrome bumpers are also in great condition.
The HiPo 440ci V8 features the A727 Torqueflite auto transmission with a Borgeson 12:1 quick ratio steering box. Additional upgrades include drilled and slotted disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, Hotchkis torsion bar and springs, Hellwig front and rear sway bars, QA1 upper control arms, and Hedman long tube headers. It has an 8 ¾ rear end with 355 gears. She rolls on Cooper Cobra tires, P275/60R15 on the rears and P235/60R15's on the fronts. They are mounted to 15” Mopar Rallye wheels. There is also a full size spare located in the trunk.
