1966 Ford Mustang 289

1966 Mustang Coupe.

This vehicle has received an extensive refurbishment and is in excellent condition running and driving quite well. Originally a C code 289 two barrel with a Cruise-O-Matic auto trans this Mustang has had the mechanicals and cosmetics well sorted.

The numbers matching block was completely rebuilt with aluminum heads and intake, new Holley carb, upgraded cam and lifters, new ignition with an MSD coil, aluminum water pump and radiator plus aftermarket air conditioning that blows cold. The car also has both a new battery and new tires, new master cylinder and new vacuum booster. The transmission shifts as it should. The suspension is taught and the brakes work well, discs up front and drums in the rear. Also, this car is equipped with power steering.

The paint and bodywork are great with good panel gaps plus the doors, hood and trunk open and close well, no sagging or misalignment. It has sequential brake lights and halogen headlights. The new dual exhaust sounds sweet and mellow but will bark when you put the spurs to her. This car is equipped with the desirable through the valance exhaust trumpets.

The interior is a combination of saddle tan on the seats and door cards with black carpeting and maroon dash and trim throughout the rest of the interior, all of it is in excellent condition with to tears or fading. There are no sags in the headliner, no cracks in the dash nor cracks in the steering wheel. It has Auto Meter Rally Pac style gauges on the column, one is a clock and the other is volt meter. The balance of the factory gauges are fully operational including 140mph speedometer, fuel, amps, oil pressure and water temp. The interior lighting works and all the windows are functional. The car also has the optional center console.
