"It's a Javelin!"
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1969 AMC Javelin for your consideration. This Javelin is powered by what appears to be a 390ci V8 with some light aftermarket modifications such as Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner. Also installed was an MSD ignition system. Mated to the motor is an automatic transmission that is linked to a B&M floor shifter.
Externally the car is finished in a bright orange with aftermarket wheels and side exit exhaust. Overall this Javelin has an aggressive exterior appearance that complements the sound and speed of the vehicle. The interior could use a bit of love but is in fair condition. It has an aftermarket AutoGage tachometer and Pro-Comp oil pressure, fuel level, and water temperature gauges. With power brakes, power steering, and a large V8 driving this Javelin is a fun experience that is still comfortable enough to be enjoyable on a regular basis.
The AMC Javelin is an American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-door hardtop manufactured and marketed by AMC across two generations, 1968–70 and 1971–74. American Motors' Javelin served as the company's entrant into the "pony car" market created by the Ford Mustang. The design evolved from two AMX prototypes shown in AMC's "Project IV" concept cars during 1966. One was a fiberglass two-seat "AMX", and the other was a four-seat "AMX II". Both of these offerings reflected the company's strategy to shed its "economy car" image and appeal to a more youthful, performance-oriented market. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
