1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye For Sale
Introduced in fall of 1969 for the 1970 model year, the Challenger was one of two Chrysler E body cars, the other being the slightly smaller Plymouth Barracuda. Positioned to compete against the Mercury Cougar and Pontiac Firebird in the upper end of the pony car market segment. The Challenger's longer wheelbase, larger dimensions, and more luxurious interior were prompted by the launch of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, likewise a bigger, more luxurious and more expensive pony car aimed at affluent young American buyers. The exterior design was penned by Carl Cameron, who was also responsible for the exterior designs of the 1966 Dodge Charger. The 1972 grille and taillight arrangement was carried over for the 1973 and 1974 model years. The mandatory 5 mph bumpers were also added to those year cars. Challenger production ceased midway through the 1974 model year. A total of 165,437 first generation Challengers were sold.
1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye. This Challenger was originally a 340 four barrel car. It now has a 383 engine with an automatic transmission. Has a slap stick shifter. We installed a new starter on the vehicle and got the vehicle to start off of pouring gas into the carburetor. On start up the car has 80 PSI oil pressure. Has aftermarket headers. This car comes with power brakes, power steering and also has disc brakes on the front. Has manual door windows.
The interior of the vehicle is all complete. Gauge cluster on the vehicle is all complete and has not been cut. Has an aftermarket oil and water temp gauge below the dash. Has an aftermarket stereo in the vehicle. The original steering wheel is still on the car and is in good condition. Vehicle has a center console and bucket seats. The car does have rust. There is window trim included in the sale of the vehicle and some other spare parts. Comes with a clean title.
