1936 Ford Pickup

Let me take you down 'cause I'm going to ..Strawberry Fields…Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about, Strawberry Fields Forever!

For consignment this low hanging fruit in the form of a 1936 Ford Pickup truck. All fixed up and looking hot rodded snappy, sporting a chopped top, fine steel panels, and an interior that emulates the exterior colors only in cloth. This custom ride can haul the goods, or haul in the trophies as it is truly a one of a kind!

Exterior
All straight steel with a few wider gaps at the doors, particularly on the passenger's side for this 36 pickup. In all its front shield style grille, fender mounted headlights on stalks, and harmoniously curving fenders and running boards styling. It all came together to create this custom truck. To state the obvious, it is immersed in light ambrosia and dark strawberry (pink and red) paint with a few accenting lightning style bolts in sky blue and dark pink which delineate the strawberry from the ambrosia on the cowled hood and chopped cab. The hood has been shaved of any ornaments, the grille painted black and a shiny bumper frames the curved fenders in front. 2 small turn signal lights encased squared off bezels are seen just above the bumper on the inner of each front fender. Moving rearward, a red bed covering in vinyl is nice and tight and protects a beautiful red cedar bed and the pickup box sides which are all straight and rust free. On back just below the tailgate, is a custom fabricated rear roll pan which houses the horizontal taillights. Overall paint is nice with just a few chips where some metal surfaces are in contact during normal operation of this truck, or a stone may have jumped in the way while it was rolling down the back roads. 15-inch polished Boyd Coddington Wheels are wrapped in 205/70R15's in front and 235/60R15's on back

Interior
A complete custom redux using strawberry and ambrosia broadcloth and more stitched in lightning bolts for the door panels. A cloth pull with billet style mounts as well as a small button for the power windows are within the strawberry field (Tongue in cheek!). Inside late model styled buckets with high backs and open headrests are donned in strawberry bolsters and some pleated tan canvas looking but much softer inserts. A rally style Grant steering wheel fronts a custom blue LED digital dash which is within a billet aluminum long oval with central circle instrument bezel. This is then inserted into a mauve metal dash which has retained the original panels just modified for the new instruments and an aftermarket AM/FM/CD digital Jensen radio. On the bottom of the dash is a broadcloth panel not unlike the remaining covering for this interior and it houses A/C and heater vents and some billet cast aluminum knobs and pulls. Speakers are mounted throughout the cab and are within more broadcloth coverings for the remainder of the interior and headliner. On the floor is a Lokar shifter and chromed parking brake lever all in a field of gray carpeting. Rock On!

Drivetrain
Under the cowled hood is a 302ci V8 topped with a single 4-barrel carburetor and a C4 3-speed automatic transmission is on back throwing power to a Ford 9-inch rear axle. Can you say strawberry jammin'?

Undercarriage
Underneath we see a restored frame, no rusted some new struts on the X framing in the middle. Headers from the mill feed stainless piping and glass pack style mufflers. A Mustang II front suspension is now providing the ride and leaf springs are still on the back. Power disc brakes on front and power drums on back.

Drive-Ability
In short…cake, (Tongue still in cheek), she fires right up and drives very nicely. Fantastic acceleration, good handling and smooth shifting for the auto tranny. I noticed the brake pedal is a bit soft and the radio did not function.

Plant the seeds with the significant other as this custom truck is definitely a one of a kind creation and color which pushes the edge, but looks great on this truck. A nice engine, smooth transmission, and a stunning cedar bed to go with all that pink and red it works perfectly. Hot rodding that can definitely butter your bread, and slather on the JAM!
