“The Wicked Chicken”
The final year second generation Firebird with a pretty rare 4-speed manual is up for your consideration. Only about 2300 units were sold with the optional 4-speed manual and it had to be ordered with the 5.0 Liter engine option. A few other subtle changes happened throughout the second-generation cars that started being built in in 1970. This particular car comes out of long-term ownership since 2000 and the seller has only put about 6,000 miles on the car in that time frame. The mileage is believed to be accurate as the seller states that this is a numbers matching car with the only paint work being done on the car is a driver side door was re-sprayed at some point due to a few door dings. Yes, the decals could be removed from the lower valance but the pin striping is painted. The interior is in excellent condition and the best part is mechanically this car is excellent. It fires perfectly, idles nice, good clutch, brakes, brand new tires and does not leak or smoke. It also goes down the road very nicely with no shimmys or shakes. There is some spare parts and some og parts that have been replaced. All the lights and gauges also seem to work nicely. This seems to be a excellent turn-key driver quality T/A that is only going to go up in value as we have seen with the 70's and 80's cars over the last couple of years.
