EXTREMELY CLEAN REAL MACH 1, 351 V8, AUTO, AC, GRABBER YELLOW, TAN INSIDE, NICE!
Since 1964, the Ford Mustang has been the iconic pony car and has seen a multitude of changes over the years. 1971 brought a new long-nose body style change that has stood the test of time and still stand today as an affordable way to have a great daily driver classic car. This genuine 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has been cared for correctly and features a throaty 351 V8, A/C and an awesome color combination of yellow on tan interior.
It starts with a gorgeous Grabber Yellow that is covered with the legendary black Mach 1 stripes, these long nose mach 1s showcase so well with a bold color choice. This factory-correct hue looks great today thanks to an investment in a professional respray. There's no better way to showcase a Mach 1 than with the ram air hood on a blacked-out treatment that matches the side hockey stick stripes and rear spoiler. The whole package looks great on a body as straight and clean as this one. Given the choice, we think this was the right decision to keep the front bumper body colored but leave the rear in chrome where it matches the gas cap and dual exhaust tips.
The interior is another exercise in the right original elements (you even have an AM/FM stereo with an 8-track!) The surprisingly dark brown vinyl is the factory correct colors, and nothing looks better against the exterior yellow than this. So many of these received the black vinyl so brown is a great surprise. Ford also wanted a luxury image for the Mach 1, and so this one still retains its high-back bucket seats, power steering, as well as the wood veneering on the door panels and dashboard.
Under the hood is the correct 351 Cleveland V8 for this Mustang, and it even properly wears the air cleaner element for the ram air hood. Originality is kept in place with correct decals and stickers. Everything works the way it should on this car and once glance in the engine bay you can see how someone has cared for this car. Making sure this power reliably gets to the ground is a three-speed automatic transmission. It's a total package that gives you more power than a factory machine, but it's easy enough to go cruising any weekend you want.
Glance at the underneath photos and you'll see how clean the car is, the floor was painted the same color as the car and is nearly show-quality. Power front disc brakes provide stopping power. This is that vintage long-body Mustang of your modern dreams. Contact Shelton Classics & Performance for details at (704) 663-0432 or visit www.SheltonClassics.com.
