2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8
When the latest Dodge Challenger first debuted for 2008, many people dismissed this reborn nameplate as being too big, too heavy and not a sharp enough handler. But it turned out that there was plenty of appeal hidden underneath that retro-styled sheet metal. With its spacious interior, comfortable seats, compliant suspension and abundant power, the Challenger represented both the rebirth of a classic American muscle car and the classic American coupe. The 2011 Dodge Challenger may look like a muscle car and go like a muscle car, but its ability to also be a grand American touring coupe cements its status as the most livable of the reborn pony cars.
For consignment a 2011 Dodge Challenger rebirth SRT8. Complete with 392 cubes of Hemi power and you'll have 470 horses at your toe tips. Bathed in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl, some wide silver stripes running from stem to stern, and a rumble from 'unda (the hood) you will be firmly placed in retro muscle with all the modern conveniences and no wrenching!
Exterior
In keeping with the similar lines of the original Challenger, this car throws you back in time but snaps you right back to present with its slightly more curved lines, a more stout body, lower overall height, and large 20 inch wheels. All straight panels integrate with nicely minded gaps. A larger spoiler is on front and this leads the way for wide silver stick on stripes to race through the middle of this car, up over the hood, roof, and trunk lid, and down the back, very racy. Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl covers the steel and red accenting badges are peppering the car at all the key spots. Very similar to the original version, lighting for the head and taillights also help us to travel back in time on the look front. Blackened trimmings for the windows, and integrated neoprene bumpers also in the black pearl keep the look menacing. 20 inch 5 spoke wheels with a mixture of polished ribs and matte castings have a center Dodge badge, and an SRT cast into the rim. All corners are wrapped with Goodyear Eagle F1 rubber which is like 2 new pairs of shoes.
Interior
Inside suede inserts in charcoal gray with smooth leather bolsters come together to form a high backed racing style bucket for the driver and passenger. These seats are powered and pristine in condition and feature a single red stripe and SRT embroidered stitching in white on the upper backs. Door panels flank these beauties and these sport molded black plastic sculpted around a suede insert, and plenty of power buttons to operate all necessary functions automatically. Behind the multi function button adorned rally leather wrapped steering wheel is the dash which has been machined out of black plastic and vinyl, and shows white faced gauges with black numbers and red pointers. In the center of the dash is a Navi screen which also is an indicator of some of the functions you have access to on the steering wheel. Climate control knobs are just below and this vertical part melts into the center console which houses the shift lever, dual cup holders and a storage unit which is just in front of the matching 2 plus 2 rear bench. A sunroof is above, and below is clean fluffy black carpeting that appears to have never been stepped on!
Drivetrain
Neatly molded together are all the working parts to help the 392ci Hemi pump out 470 HP. Electronic Fuel Injection is atop and a Tremec 6060 6-speed manual transmission is on back. Way back is a 3.91 Getrag limited slip rear axle, although when you press the gas the tires still “slip” YIKES!
Undercarriage
Well kept would be the buzzword underneath this car with nice rust free panels, plenty of cast aluminum parts to save on weight, and just slight corrosion on the bottom end of the transmission case. Power disc brakes are all around and the original exhaust is present. Sexy red brake calipers show through the 5 spoked wheels on the outside, just like any self respecting muscle car should.
Drive-Ability
Our muscle car expert drooled to get his hands on this one and based on the smile on his face upon his return, he was very impressed. He was thrilled with the acceleration and did not even get to use the half of it. Handling was impressive, braking straight, and all functions were in working order. Most impressive other than its seemingly unlimited power is its ability to cruise at highway speed with the most luxurious cars available.
A muscle car, a street racer, and a family car you can take to the shore and cruise comfortably on the AC Expressway, and when you need to make a rest stop at Frank S. Farley mid way, you will not need gas due to its efficiency…amazing. People love original stuff, but serious consideration should be paid to this new retro styled, modern amenity car with awesome power and comfort.
