Our Cuda has had the factory 318ci V8 engine replaced during refurbishment with a 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 crate engine on the Hemi K-member. It has a Holley 750 carburetor, hydraulic camshaft, ceramic long-tube headers connected to a mandrel-bent dual exhaust, a lightweight driveshaft with 1350 Spicer U-joints, Powermaster starter and alternator, black Hemi valve covers, black Hemi shaker air cleaner assembly, performance spark plug wires, power steering and brakes, with everything looking just as it should from 1970.
The power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed 727 automatic transmission and Dana 60 9¾” rear axle with Heavy-duty Dutchman 35 spline axles, all from Mancini Racing.
Additional performance modifications include front KYB shocks, adjustable rear Koni shocks, a lightweight driveshaft, while braking is handled by front discs with slotted and drilled rotors and rear drums, and track-style front and rear brake linings.
It rides on 15″ Rallye wheels and wears BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires while the suspension utilizes a Heidts front end, and Hemi leaf springs.
Interior
New white leather upholstery was sourced from Legendary Auto Interiors and installed during the restoration along with matching door panels, contrasting black carpets, and reconditioned seat belts.
Equipment includes power steering with a tilting steering column and a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a pistol grip slap-stick shifter, and slotted courtesy lights.
