Coming out of a private collection, only 3500 miles!

In 1981, Ford formed the SVO group to design and develop performance parts and accessories related to the company's racing programs. SVO was involved in motorsports programs, expanding Ford racing, establishing a performance parts business, and producing road cars. The Ford Mustang SVO was designed to compete directly with European sports sedans like BMW's 3 Series.

Gaudin Classic is proud to offer this 1986 Ford Mustang SVO shows only 3,533 miles and is finished in black over Charcoal Gray leather. A fuel-injected and turbocharged 2.3L inline-four sends power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok rear end. Ford's Special Vehicle Operations gave the model a unique hood scoop, biplane spoiler, and front air dam. This final-year SVO was first purchased at Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and has been reportedly treated as a collector car since new. Additions include adjustable Koni shocks paired with lowering springs, however, the removed units are included in the sale. The driver's window retains the original window sticker.

The interior features adjustable sport seats finished in Charcoal Gray leather. Original equipment includes a factory Hurst shifter and the SVO-specific 3-spoke steering wheel wrapped in leather. A fuel grade switch on the center console allows for switching between standard and premium gas to avoid knocking with lower-grade fuels. The Ford Premium Sound head unit retains instructions on how to set the memory buttons.
