Barracuda Gran Coupe

Description

Take a look at this! On hand now is a rare 1970 Plymouth Barracuda "Gran Coupe", a luxury-oriented version of the iconic 'Cuda that just so happens to be positively stunning. The appeal of this old Plymouth is unmistakable, with striking 18" chrome Ridler wheels and a shimmering navy blue paintjob paired with a black vinyl top. 1970 was the very first year for the 3rd-Gen Barracuda, and also among the most sought after. Renowned for its one-year-only styling, the 1970 Barracuda shed all resemblance of the Plymouth Valiant economy car in favor of a shorter, wider, and lower design that sported a beefier, more imposing look, making it now properly sized to go after rivals like the Chevrolet Chevelle SS in addition to the newly redesigned Ford Mustang. This is a luxury-oriented "Gran Coupe" model, which received more upscale features from the factory and was different than the more sport-oriented 'Cuda. As for power, this example gets by using a 318 C.I. V8 breathing through a 2-barrel carburetor, the perfect combination for easy cruising. Torque from that 318 connects to the pavement through the use of a 3-speed automatic transmission, allowing for smooth and easy power delivery. The exterior "Navy Blue" paint has been buffed to a brilliant shine, shimmering in the sun and complimented wonderfully by a black vinyl top for that more upscale "Gran Coupe" look that this Barracuda was meant to have. The interior is just as nice, with black vinyl trim adorning the comfortable bucket seats and an overhead console with indicator lights, a fancy feature for 1970 that tells you that your doors are still open or the seatbelts haven't been buckled. Options on this fantastic Plymouth include power steering, factory air conditioning, factory gauges, an original AM/8-Track stereo system, an overhead console with working lights, and an outstanding-sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The car rides on flashy 18" Ridler chrome wheels over slick "Thunder D7" blackwall tires, giving off a remarkably sporty look. These days, Barracudas are few and far between, even more so for the 1970 models. Well, this here is an incredible opportunity to own not only a beautiful example of a 1970 model but also one that is unique in its own right. It's sure to steal the show anywhere it is driven, and it would look even better sitting in your driveway.
