A muscle car, by the strictest definition, is an intermediate sized, performance oriented model, powered by a large V8 engine, at an affordable price. Most of these models were based on “regular” production vehicles. These vehicles are generally not considered muscle cars, even when equipped with large V8s. If there was a high-performance version available, it gets the credit, and not the vehicle that it was based on.

Well within the definition of a muscle car…for consignment this freshly restored with a rotisserie restoration, much attention to detailed, NOS parts, numbers matching, stroked beauty, is 1 of 98 produced with the options it has now, and 1 of 11 that went to Canada. Lots of work put in here and is well within range of fair pricing for what you are getting.

With NOS full quarters, NOS outer wheel wells, and full AMD trunk pan (not a 2 piece), the remainder of this car has original floors and panels. And oh, how they line up straight and true. After all this reworking it was finished off in Ivy Green Metallic and we are talking a very good respray. Add some matte black stripes on this dual side scooped Hemi badged hood, and it looks just showroom. Chrome, brite-work, and badging is all correct, all pristine. Plus, an additional V6W white longitudinal stripe, unassuming body color matching steel wheels, thin white striped tires, and true to original Plymouth caps and we are rocking the Muscle car definition.

In a word, showroom. A swing of the door reveals just beautiful stitched vinyl black panels with a wood appliqué at the door handle, the Plymouth badge floating above, and a very nice crank, all panels framed with shiny chrome. Turning our attention to the interior seating area, we can start upfront with a console that was sent out and refreshed, including gauges which were done by Instrument Specialties. Nearly new black vinyl high back buckets are in front of the dash, and these flank a wood and chrome appliqué console which houses the long handled wood knobbed Hurst shifter. A shout out to the back seat, as it appears to have never been sat in! New black carpeting has been installed, and the headliner is nice and tight. All interior lighting works perfectly, and consigner tells us that most of the interior is original.

Moving to the heart of the operation, we see a completely refreshed original 426 Ci mill that was bored and stroked to 472 ci. This work was performed by a noted Hemi restorer Ray Barton. A numbers matching Hemi Box is seen, and air grabber, and dual 4-barrel carburetors are noted. A 4 speed manual A833 transmission also numbers matching (*a large quantity of transmissions were assembled in advance, then were put into these cars as needed. This transmission was built July 11, 1967 so as long as the transmission precedes the car build it is considered numbers matching). All this power heads to the rear where we see a Dana 60 4.10 posi rear.

If you needed to, you could turn this car upside down and eat off of it. All is as close to showroom as one can get. A few notable's underneath, in the form of A Super Track Pack, police suspension which is torsion bar upfront, and leaf spring in the rear. Power disc brakes are upfront, and power drums on the rear. The shiny Flowmaster exhaust snakes its way rearward passing all green and mean absolute rust free panels, a new tank, and shiny components.

Our decoder has some behind the wheel time in this wonderful piece of muscle from 1969, and he reports all is buttoned up with any controls, brakes are very good, (they need to be) and he could definitely feel the 552 Horsepower, that has been babied and has only 30 miles on the car since the restoration. He loved it!

You could use the word Concours when talking about this car, as it is spotless. A no stone left unturned rotisserie restoration, with plenty of attention to detail, and we give you a near perfect piece of muscle car history form 1969. You really have to see it in person to appreciate it.
