There are very few names more recognizable in the automotive industry as Carroll Shelby. In the 1960's, Shelby partnered with Ford and unleashed the potential in Ford's most popular sports car. Thus, the Shelby Mustang was born. Some of the most beautiful and high-performance Mustangs ever built have had the honor of wearing the Shelby name and this 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT is no exception. Unlike the S197 GT500, the Shelby GT Mustangs were actually put together at the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas, Nevada and each received an unique serial number from Shelby American. 2008 was the second year that the Shelby GT package was offered on the S197 Mustang and they only produced 2300 units that year, all finished in the same Vista Blue exterior with Satin Silver stripes. This Ford Mustang Shelby GT is a very nice example of these Shelby Mustangs with under 45,000 actual miles. The Vista Blue exterior is in very nice condition with only minor defects present. Complimenting the exterior are the correct Satin Silver stripes, Shelby Cobra hood scoop, Shelby side scoops, Shelby rear spoiler and a set of FR500 style wheels. The Black leather interior is in excellent condition with only minor wear present on the outer bolster of the driver seat. Powering this beautiful Shelby Mustang is its 4.6 liter V8 backed by its 5-speed manual transmission. No Mustang goes through the Shelby American facility without receiving the full Shelby treatment. These Shelby GT's received a special open-air intake, exhaust and tune from Shelby American that brought the output up to a respectable 319HP and 330 ft-lbs torque. The suspension was also gone through at Shelby American and received the Ford Performance handling package. So not only did these Shelby GT Mustangs put out more power than the standard Mustang GT, they also put the power to the pavement much more effectively. This Shelby GT is very well equipped from the factory with features such as: power steering, 4-wheel power disc brakes, Hurst short throw shifter, cruise control, air conditioning, dual power mirrors, intermittent wipers, heater/defrost, AM/FM stereo with 6-disc changer, power windows, power driver seat, lit cupholders, and keyless entry.
