Fun B&W Police Car Fair Condition Nice Interior License And Registration Please!
1950 Dodge Coronet D34 Sedan
There's a holdup in the Bronx, Brooklyn's broken out in fights. There's a traffic jam in Harlem that's backed up to Jackson Heights. There's a scout troop short a child, Khrushchev's due at Idlewild Car 54, Where Are You?
For Consignment a bit of FUN! Yes, we present to you this 1950 Dodge Coronet D34 dressed in full Black and White, and we do not mean a tuxedo…we mean the PoPo B&W. Bubble gum machine on top spinning, siren blaring, and spotlight shining, pull over son, get out of the car and spread 'em!
Exterior
With surprisingly straight body panels, this massive car is solid. With front and rear painted black, and passenger compartment white we see the Police Badge on the doors, and all the law enforcement accoutrements you can shake a stick at. Large whip antenna, huge chromed siren, original '50's squad car bubble gum spinning light, sergeant stripes on the C Pillar, and a few faux bullet holes thrown on for more giggles, and we are ready to be goin' in hot and takin' prisoners!
Interior
Restored yet amazingly original we see a beautiful 2 tone cloth swoop pattern on the seats and door panels in gray and red. The dash is in all its 1950 chromed and painted black glory, as is the steering wheel that fronts it. An early police band radio hangs from the bottom of the dash, (you know “1 Adam 12, see the man….”) Various toggle switches control the exterior embellishments; however we could not get the siren to work. “Badges? …We don't no stinking' badges”!
Drivetrain
A 230ci Inline 6-cylinder attached to a 3-speed Gyro Metic Fluid drive sits within an engine bay that is unrestored and has an amazing gaggle of wires and tubes, to run the accessories.
Undercarriage
Surface rust abounds, and the undercoating applied at one point in this car's life has begun to chip off and reveal surface rust. A few body mounts have a fair amount of rust on them as do the rockers.
This car would be the perfect parade entertainment car with all its Constable on Patrol add ons, and it comes with an amazing array of props and different uniforms, one with doughnuts attached (why would it have doughnuts on it?). Sorry” just the facts ma'am”.
