2004 Ford Mustang GT Convertible
The fourth generation Ford Mustang was an automobile produced by Ford for the 1994 through 2004 model years. For 1994 the Ford Mustang underwent its first major redesign in fifteen years, being introduced in November 1993 and launching on December 9, 1993. The design, code named "SN-95" by Ford, was based on an updated version of the Fox platform, the final Ford vehicle underpinned with this platform. It featured styling by Bud Magaldi that incorporated some stylistic elements from the classic Mustangs.
Most 40th Anniversary package cars came with Parchment (tan) leather interiors. Some came with black leather. This is possibly a Canadian variation. This possible Canada-only variation also features dealer option wheels, no hood stripes and 'Mustang' decals on the lower-body side panels under the doors. A low mileage car at a consigner stated 47,954 original miles.
Exterior
Bathed in black with a back canvas convertible top, and badged in clean chromed 40th anniversary badges, this car sports a hood scoop, and a rear spoiler. Side body panels are reminiscent of the '65 version, as are the updated rear brake lights. Dual exhaust protrude below the Mustang labeled bumper.
Interior
Lowering the convertible, we are met with nicely used black leather and vinyl combination seats, buckets in front and a bench in the rear. The buckets are embroidered in black with the galloping pony logo. Power windows, power mirrors, a power top up and down, and a driver's side power seat adjustment are seen on this car. The dash also in black vinyl has a very clean instrument panel, with analog gauges and digital odometer readout. A leather wrapped 5 speed shifter sits within the console.
Drivetrain
A 4.6 liter SOHC fuel injected V8 backed by a Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission can be seen in clean and green shape with the lift of the hood.
Undercarriage
All original, all structurally sound with surface rust on uncoated steel surfaces, definitely unremarkable. Rockers are pristine, as is the frame and floor panels. Independent front suspension and 4 link rear suspension along with an 8.8” 3.73 Posi-track rear, and power disc brakes are seen all around.
An all original 2 owner (both self-described gray-haired men) who pampered this car, never modified it in any way, and clocked few miles on it, and now it can be grabbed by you and rode into the sunset…happy trails!
