Pewter Exterior/Ebony Leather 5.7 Liter V8 Overall Very Good Condition
2000 Pontiac Trans Am Convertible
A muscle car, by definition, is a powerful and sporty vehicle that must be able to spin its tires at will. The Firebird Trans Am is capable of laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred feet long. We wanted to be sure it could, so we did it a half dozen times in the name of automotive science.
For consignment originally from our friends up north in the St. Therese Canada assembly plant, is this sculpted, aerodynamic convertible muscle car. A consigner stated original car which has been garage kept.
Exterior
All dressed up in Pewter (Paint Color) from the 2 bumps at the front of the fenders that magically turn into headlights, to the multi ported intake cowling hood flanked by 2 front fender bumps, and more intake inlets on the quarter panels, to the severely raked windscreen, to the rear trunk lid that seems to go on forever as it becomes an integrated spoiler. All in nice condition, just like the black canvas convertible which is power operated. Special WS6 5-spoke aluminum wheels are seen on all 4's.
Interior
Ebony leather covers the two front buckets, the rear 2 plus 2 bench, and steering wheel, as well as gearshift. Leather is soft and supple, shows some folds however no major cracks on the undulating beautifully designed seats. These are power seats with 6 way on the driver's side and 4 way on the passenger. A swooping center console is flanked by the buckets and makes its way to the dash while including a glove box/armrest, cup holder, gearshift, climate controls, and AM/FM/CD player with equalizer. The normal cluster instruments are clean and bright. Nice matching gray carpet floods the floor.
Drivetrain
A 5.7 Liter LS1 V8 in found within the engine bay and is normally aspirated. The 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission is bolted to the back, and these in combination make use of the 3.23 rear axle ratio and posi-traction and this in turn allows the tires to spin and make the black marks on the pavement!
Undercarriage
Slight surface rust is noted, however 95% of the undercarriage is almost showroom with no dirt or scratched paint. Power front and rear disc brakes are on all the corners, and this car comes equipped with electronic traction control.
A low mileage well cared for example of the Trans AM modern style. Aerodynamically designed and performance enhanced to be reliably driven, hassle free. Press the button, lower the top, and make some marks on the pavement!
