It's hard not to get excited about this 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T. After all, it's a beautiful coupe with all the right sporty touches and a 383 V8 from the height of the muscle car era. And because real Mopar muscle is a true rarity, this even comes with the factory buildsheet to prove that your power car has provenance.
The theme of this car is a thoughtful muscle machine. The upgrade to red paint has a glossy finish that not only radiates with an attention-grabbing shine, but it also showcases the well-fitting sheet metal. Just as bold as the red is all the aggressive black touches such as the matte finish drawing attention to the scooped hood, a full vinyl roof, and blackout rear panel. And of course, your favorite part will be the special R/T stripes that love to highlight the curvy rear fenders. And you'll also love the bright pieces that add to the speedy style everywhere from the hood pins to the polished Cragar SS wheels.
Chrysler's interior always got high marks for both style and comfort, and because of good maintenance and investment, it continues to be a great place to spend some quality time. The black looks great as it coordinates with the exterior accents, and the clean upholstery, good carpeting, a nice headliner, and a smooth dash make it inviting. There's even a touch of wood-like paneling on the dash, doors, and the desirable center console for a vintage way to break up the darkness. It's a terrific sports car setup with the classic Mopar dual-spoke sports steering wheel, Slap Stick shifter, and a Rallye instrument package with round gauges that include the tach right at the center.
When you peek under the hood, you'll find an engine bay filled with big block Mopar power. The non-matching but period-correct 383 cubic inch V8. There has been an investment in keeping it quite attractive with the polished valve covers, Magnum callout air grabber, a bright orange block, tidy wires, newer hoses, and a newer master cylinder. The mighty V8 inhales deeply through an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, which helps contribute to the wicked snarl of the dual exhaust. The A727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission is great for both handling the big torque and shifting smoothly. And the power steering, power brakes, front discs, and grip of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires makes for an all-around solid driving experience.
The sale comes complete with maintenance records and the very valuable factory buildsheet. This is the real-deal Challenger R/T that is a terrific muscle Mopar, and it's all offered for quite a nice price. Call today!!!
