Cruisin Classics is proud to present a rare blast from the 1980's past....this 1 year only 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2! This G-Body Aerocoupe was Pontiac's NASCAR entry for 1986. According to the Pontiac Historical Society only 1,225 of these special Grand Prix's were produced, making this a really rare ride. This car started it's life in Arizona and remained out west for most of it while adding only 87,663 gently used miles to the odometer. Just as all of the 2+2 were, this one is dressed in slick silver paint with orange and red stripes and charcoal lower body trim. The front end features a sporty 4-piece honeycomb front grill and oversized air dam, but it's the bubble window leading to the integrated rear spoiler that really catches everyone's eye. The large back window does make for a smaller trunk opening under the fiberglass lid but it made for a car with a significantly lowered drag coefficient – just what Pontiac was looking for on the track. It rests upon stock 15X7 Pontiac Rally II wheels with General Ameritrac tires. Under the hood you'll find a very stock engine bay housing the 5.0 liter 305ci LG4 V-8 with a 4bbl carburetor. While not a speed demon at 165 hp, it did produce 245 ft lbs of torque at only 2,400 rpm's – it'll definitely get moving when called upon. The 305 is mated to a 200 4R 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited slip 3.08:1 rear axle. Stock manifolds flow through a single catalytic converter to dual Magnaflow mufflers to provide a pleasing sound. Braking power comes from power vented front disc brakes and drums on the rear. The stock suspension consists of independent A-arms with coil springs, telescoping shock absorbers and anti-roll bar on the front, and upper & lower control arms, coil springs, shocks, and an anti-roll bar on the back. Open the door to find an incredibly well-kept interior full of amenities. Place your hands on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and glance around to find power windows, power locks, tilt wheel, cruise control, power steering, interior controlled drivers side mirror, 2-speed wipers, an AM/FM cassette stereo system, and best of all...cold Air Conditioning. The interior shows very little wear with a crack-free dash, tight headliner, comfortable cloth seats with no rips, tears, or stains, very nice door cards, and good quality gray carpet. This Grand Prix does come with a few sweet extras – original owners manual, shop manual, window sticker, spare and jack, and a new set of silver Pontiac embossed valve covers (should you want to swap them for the existing factory black ones). We're even throwing in the Eddie Money cassette we found in the stereo when we got it!
