To the untrained eye this may look like your average 2008 Ford Mustang GT500, but those who know will tell you this is no average Mustang. One of only 1000 to leave the assembly line in 2008, this car is a true collectors item that is not just good to look at.
Underneath the hood lies a supercharged 5.4 Liter DOHC 540 horsepower V8 that will rocket the car to 60mph in only 4.3 seconds. The 1/4 mile is covered in only 12.1 seconds, it may be 14 years old but this car is still a serious performance contender. The car is hauled to a stop by its 14in Brembo discs. This Mustang isn't just about straight line speed the ride height drops 20mm in the front and 15mm in the rear, the chassis is stiffened by 17% up front and 75 in the rear. The traction control and ABS were calibrated specifically for this car, the tires are Goodyear Eagle F1's with a bespoke tread compound just for the KR.
What we have here is more than just a couple badges and few more ponys, this car combines the straight line speed that mustangs are known for and gives it the handling and cornering abilities not found in most muscle cars. The GT500KR does in fact earn the name, "King of the Road" as attested to by the dashboard signature of the man himself - Carroll Shelby.
