R/T, 440V8, AUTO TRANS, 4-WHL WILWOOD DISCS, FACTORY BLUE ON WHITE!
HIGHLIGHTS: 440V8! Factory B5 Blue! Factory white top and interior! 4-wheel disc brakes! Awesome Mopar muscle car!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Challenger is in good condition, especially for a Mopar of this era that doesn't appear to have seen an extensive restoration. This Challenger is squarely in 'driver-survivor' territory, and shows well. The underside tells a story of a much more original car than the top side does, but overall the body appears to be very solid.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The B5 Blue is a great choice, made even better by the white vinyl top. This eye-catching, uncommon color combination really makes this car pop! The best part is, according to the fender tag these are the colors this Challenger left the factory in. The vinyl top is in great condition, and this car appears to have received a repaint in the past. There are some imperfections in the paint, most notably bubbles at the base of the vinyl top trim and in the lower portions of the car, such as the bottom of the fenders and quarters as seen in the photos. Nonetheless, this car shows well and is sure to turn some heads!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior condition is one place this car really shines, appearing to be largely original and with the factory equipped white vinyl bucket seats still in place. Equipped the way it left the factory, with woodgrain dash and center console, 150MPH speedometer, and Rallye instruments, this Challenger is a tidal wave of 1970s Mopar nostalgia! It even has a factory tach! This Challenger presently has a 'Cuda steering wheel installed, but a correct Challenger wheel is included.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Originally equipped with a 383 Mopar V8, somewhere along the way this Challenger found itself with a 1972 440 under the hood. While likely a more desirable choice for performance enthusiasts, it is worth noting that this is not the original engine. The 440 runs great, and this car retains its factory-installed air conditioning with the addition of a modern compressor. Other upgrades include Wilwood disc brakes on all four corners, as well as chrome 15” American Racing wheels to accommodate the brake upgrade. With Mopar Performance valve covers, a proper 440 Magnum air cleaner, and Wilwood master cylinder, the engine bay is easy on the eyes–plus there's just something about that Mopar orange engine peeking out in a sea of B5 Blue! Last but not least, this car comes with receipts for over $10,000 worth of recent repairs and maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The throaty rumble of the 440 and the striking colors.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: The automatic transmission is great, but some may prefer their 440 in manual flavor.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? At present, the only items not functioning properly are the A/C, heat, reverse lights, and radio.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This is the car for the enthusiast that is looking for a real, authentic muscle car from the height of the muscle car era that they can drive and have fun with, that has had tasteful upgrades performed without compromising the car's original form.
