STK 3144 1965 Chevrolet El Camino
Chevrolet created their first 'hybrid' pickup in 1959 – the El Camino. The first generation was based on the full-size Chevrolet sedan chassis and was only built for two years. The second generation was reintroduced in 1964 and was based on the Chevelle platform. This 1965 Chevy El Camino received a full restoration (2004) with mechanical upgrades. The exterior was reshot in two-stage White and is in very good condition. Chrome and stainless are excellent and polished 15” American Racing wheels mount Kumho performance radials. The handsome restored Red vinyl interior is more inviting than the GM original. Carpeting, headliner, door cards and dash are in excellent condition. Comfort features include AM/FM stereo system, custom mats, factory wheel, tinted windows, gauge package and tachometer. Power is said to be furnished by a totally rebuilt 327/300bhp motor that is nicely detailed and sits in a clean engine compartment. It is fitted with an aluminum intake, mild street cam, Edelbrock carb and a free-flowing dual exhaust system. A 4-speed manual transmission delivers torque to a stock differential. The clean chassis mounts power steering and 4-wheel power drum brakes w/dual master cylinder. Our current owner has taken excellent care of this classic Chevy. Look at the photos again, but understand that this sweet El Camino must be seen to be fully appreciated. It is ready for a new owner who will value this rare Bowtie 'hybrid'. ALL VEHICLES SOLD “AS IS”.
