1983 Chevrolet El Camino
Car History
The 1983 Chevrolet El Camino we have in our showroom at Adventure Classics, is a coupe utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959–60 and 1964–1987. Unlike a pickup truck, the El Camino was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.
Our is a very low milage two-owner car with only a bit over 11,000 original miles on it and the condition of it shows and tells the whole story, it is like new.
Engine & Drivetrain
Ours has the original 5.0 Litre V8 engine in it that it came with and looks to have all the original parts on it to like the factory stock hoses, lines, air cleaner assembly, valve covers, etc.
The engine compartment looks as it did too with the power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning backed by the column shifted 3-speed automatic feeding a 10-bolt rear end, which seems to have highway gears inside because this is an effortless high-speed cruiser.
A single exhaust system has a muted sound that suits this refined El Camino just fine and one glance at the undercarriage will convince you that this car has never spent any time in the snow.
Factory Rally wheels look sporty and carry thin white sidewall tires on the factory wheels which allow it to ride and handle great.
Interior
Our El Camino has an almost perfect red split-bench seat with headrest and a center console interior with most factory options like air conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Stereo Radio, belts, floor mats, and it makes this El Camino luxury car comfortable
It has red carpet, headliner, and floor mats with those matching red side door panels to complete the look.
Exterior
The exterior is painted in factory black with good body lines, chrome trim and bumpers, bed cover, and a tow hook system.
Again, it looks as new because of the low milage and the care that has been given to it. It is not a rare or high horsepower car, but you don't often see an El Camino this clean, with this low of milage, and this ready to cruise without a big price tag.
Conclusion
1983 Chevrolet El Camino we have in our showroom at Adventure Classics is not only a sporty classic, but can serve very utilitarian with the rear bed to haul around anything you may need, and do it in a great style to.
