“… if your idea of a proper daily driver involves tons of tire smoke and a bellowing pushrod V8 engine, the Camaro SS will put a smile on your face every time you turn the key.” – AutoWeek, June 2014
The road testers at Autoblog.com review noted: “Camaro SS uses the 6.2-liter V8 from the outgoing Corvette, good for 400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque with a 6-speed automatic, or 426 hp and 420 lb.-ft. with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Camaro SS uses firmer shocks, springs and anti-roll bars than do the V6 models, but the ride doesn't suffer for it. A limited-slip rear differential is included to reduce wheel spin when trying to put all that power down.
“We found the handling, ride and brakes to be excellent in… the Camaro SS with the big V8, although the SS suspension is stiffer and its 20-inch tires are firmer. Inside, the cabin is quiet, so 80 mph feels more like 70. Interior materials are good, but the instrumentation is disappointing, with GM trying to be retro rather than clean with gauges.”
Offered here is a superbly maintained, very low-mileage, and very rare Camaro SS “Spring Edition” 2SS Coupe with the big V8. This is one of just 293 SS Coupes of this limited-edition model produced. These Spring Edition cars—first revealed at the SEMA Show— offered a special combination of equipment, including the Summit White exterior with Blue Ray stripe, body-colored ZL1 spoiler, a ground-effect package, special grille, 21-inch wheels, and a special black, white, and blue interior trim. Showing only 32,599 miles on the odometer—fewer than 5,000 miles per-year on average—this is a lightly used high-performance car, and its outstanding, near-showroom-new condition bears that out.
The factory-original exterior Summit White paint is perfectly glossy and uniform across the entire body. “Showroom new” is no exaggeration. Even lower-body “aero” panels and the front spoiler are undamaged. Two very minor paint chips on the edge of the fuel-filler opening are the only flaws. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) The black hood vent, black grilles, black exhaust-outlet trim, black window trim, black side faux-vent treatments ahead of the rear wheel wells, and tastefully restrained Blue Ray striping are all in well-maintained, damage-free condition; the black-and-white trim-and-paint theme has a definite Imperial Storm Trooper vibe. Factory badging is all properly in place including the gold bowtie emblems front and rear, and rear-deck “SS” emblem. Factory-original 7-split-spoke 21-inch aluminum wheels (with bowtie-emblem center caps) are mounted with Pirelli® PZero 245/40 front and 275/35 rear performance tires. Very minor curb rash is present on two wheels.
The special interior Spring Edition color theme is a subtle blue and black with accents of white (on the door inserts) and brushed metal. All interior surfaces are in excellent condition free of significant wear indications. Black leather upholstery with dark-blue inserts covers the seats—well bolstered buckets up front and two-occupant bucket-like bench in the rear. Front headrests include “SS” logo embroidery. Black carpeting—protected with “Camaro”-logo-embroidered carpet mats in front—covers the cabin floors. The gold-bowtie-branded multi-function steering wheel frames the large, 180-mph, analog speedometer and 6,000-rpm-redline tachometer and the four console-mounted engine-monitoring gauges retain a look that traces back to the model's earliest examples. A driver-infotainment touchscreen display occupies the top-center-stack position with climate controls below. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is located on the console. A comprehensive list of all the base car's original equipment can be found online here:

Under the hood, the 6.2-liter, 400-horsepower V8 will cause a performance-enthusiast's heart to beat faster. The engine bay is very clean and free of modifications. In the same way, the car's undercarriage—viewed from below—shows an absence of damage, dust, or dirt. It could not have looked much better when it rolled out of the factory. Very light surface rust is confined to the untreated metal on the dual-exhaust components.
While the more than 160 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '14 Camaro 2SS in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.
