1959 Chevrolet Orange El Camino
Why This Car Is Special
If you ever wanted a show-stopping custom car, then we have one here for you at Skyway Classics that will knock your eyes out. It is a custom completely restored 1959 El Camino with a GM crate 350 cubic inch engine, custom paint job and interior.
The Chevrolet El Camino was a pickup/coupe utility vehicle that was produced by Chevrolet between 1959-60 and 1964-1987 and was introduced in the 1959 model year in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero pickup.
Unlike a standard pickup truck, the El Camino was adapted from the standard two-door Chevrolet station wagon platform and integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.
Mechanical
Ours is powered by a GM crate 350 cubic inch V-8 engine dressed to kill with chrome and polished parts including the open element air cleaner assembly, valve covers and breathers, power steering and power disc brake unit, custom high-performance radiator, serpentine belt and pulley drive system, headers, spark plug looms, and more.
It has been upgraded with many more features like the fuel injection, Vintage Air, performance plumbing, red performance spark plug wires, dual exhaust, and sits in a perfect cleaned, painted and detailed engine compartment.
The engine is backed by a Turbo Hydramatic 350 transmission and puts the power to the ground and gives a great highway ride with the 3:08 gears and the custom wide five-spoke chrome mag wheels with disc brakes and fat blackwall tires on all four corners.
Interior
The interior is professionally done with a Custom leather ostrich skin based theme with its dual plush tan bucket seats that provide a plush feel and has lateral support too, air conditioning, custom console with the armrest, cupholders, and shifter on the floor, a polished “Ididit' tilt steering column with wood steering wheel, body colored factory dash with factory and accessory gauges flanking a large centrally-mounted speedometer, radio, and all other knobs and controls, and a headliner and door panels with the ostrich skin theme.
Exterior
This desirable first year El Camino has had a top dollar restoration and was painted in finished in gorgeous Prowler Orange with pearl showcasing the body lines all the way from the front to the one year only teardrop taillights on the sleek tailfins.
It has a matching painted bed with matching ostrich skin in the center of the rear cargo area that really compliments the bed and the exterior and rear of the car.
The total package looks great from the great panel fit, and super straight bodywork back to the rear window, chrome bumpers and stainless, all show well.
Conclusion
This iconic show-stopping custom restored 1959 El Camino we have here at Skyway Classics has that dramatic cantilevered roof and gullwing tailfins and is simply stunning looking.
It is rare, beautiful, and an American icon that will serve you well as a collectable classic.
