“With increased attention on performance cars from the 1990s and early 2000s, it makes perfect sense that Camaros would start to come onto people's radar. ... the Z28 and SS offer affordable V-8 rear-drive tire-burning fun for younger enthusiasts on a budget....” -Hagerty, February 2018

Regardless of budget, the standard best advice for anyone in the collectible-car market remains: “Buy the best one you can afford.” And the second sound two-part piece of advice is “Look for originality, and beware of mods.” Apply that advice and this '94 Camaro Z28 comes up a true winner.

At just 46,599 miles—roughly 1,725 miles per year on average—this Z28 is not only low-mileage, it has crossed the 25-year threshold considered to be the beginning of “collectability” for any model (in many cases qualifying for low-cost registration and licensing). The car is free of modifications or damage of any kind and presents in original specification. The design language of the fourth-gen Camaro still looks sleek by modern-day standards. A gloss-black-painted roof adds to the car's jet-cockpit styling, and aerodynamic side-view mirrors coupled with an integrated trunk spoiler provide design cues to help the car look fast at any speed. This example is equipped with dual rectangular exhaust tips and integrated fog lamps up front.

The exterior Bright Teal paint and trim retains its factory appearance: perfectly glossy and even. The gloss black roof shines like new and handsomely complements the body color. Body panels are properly aligned and free of damage. The integrated rear spoiler, lighting lenses, cabin glass, alloy wheels all display original finishes in excellent condition. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.)

Under the hood, the 5.7-liter V8 rated at 275 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque when new is entirely original. The engine compartment—down to the factory applied stickers—is properly laid out, exceptionally clean, and complete. Classic Cars Journal in a January 2021 article proclaimed: “... what a performance car it was. Although base-model Camaros… came with a 3.8-liter V6, higher-level models like the Z28 were powered by a 5.7-liter LT1 350cid small-block V8 that was originally introduced in the Corvette in 1992.”

The car's undercarriage is similarly clean and properly laid out. There is no evidence of abuse or overly aggressive driving; no indentations or other damage on the exhaust system, for example. Minimal light surface rust is present on some untreated metal.

Inside, the car shows virtually no wear and absolutely no damage or sign of abuse. Tweed-pattern black-and-gray fabric upholstery is in excellent condition. Door trim nicely combines the black and gray colors for visual distinctiveness. Black carpeting covers the cabin floors (with protective carpet mats in front). The black dashboard, instruments, and cockpit controls all retain original finishes. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is mounted on the console. The original AM/FM/CD audio head unit is still where it was installed by the factory.

The Z28's original data and identification tags remain as mounted at the factory. The sale includes the car's owner's manual.

While the more than 150 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '85 Z28 in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions.

Hagerty recently pronounced the F-Body, fourth-generation Camaros as just now beginning to appear in the collectible-car marketplace. Finding one in this pristine, original condition is not easy today, and chances are, it will be increasingly hard to find one like this in the years ahead. Once again: Buy the best one you can afford... while it's still affordable.
